A quick way for just between one octave above and below the original pitch: If you drag the sample into your instruments then go to the SMP page of the channel settings, you can move the dial that says Pitch under Time Stretching and it will automatically stretch the sample to that pitch.Honestly I haven't used it much except for pitching down samples for something like Deep House. Also I believe a work around would be to record the sample by playing it on the piano roll at a different pitch then just stretching it the way that OP did.
